Writer's Block: The start of something wonderful

What is your favorite opening line of a book, and why?

"The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out."

Stephen King - The Body

It's just so ... true what he says! And those lines have stuck with since I first read the novel in 1997. It's such a moving story!

I just finished watching 6x12 and still can't believe how perfect it was. I mean, I was literally BLOWN AWAY by this episode! Sure, I had high expectations after all these great reviews and spoilers and everything, and I knew that Sera&Co HAD to come up with a good eppy to make up for these looooong weeks without SPN, but boy, did they deliver! I watched this episode with my BF and was kinda ... scared it would be too much about hugging and fanservice and that he would roll his eyes about my fangirling, but even he liked it very much and had to laugh out loud at times! Really glad that the show still appeals to both women and men and hasn't become too much of a girl show like VD for example ;)

I can't pick out a single thing that I didn't like about "Like a virgin" apart from the fail!hug between Sam and Cas maybe :) But the rest of this episode? Perfection!!! Brotherly hugs.... interesting storyline .... believable ways of acting (I got why Cas was angry at Dean, but I also could understand where Dean was coming from), funny!Dean (the sword scene was priceless!)..... Sam slowly figuring out what happened in the last year (kudos to Jared for the acting in those scenes! He really made me want to hug and squeeze him throughout the episode!)....the bickering between the brothers ("I come back after a year and a half, and you're still not funny!" or "You're such a nerd")....the overall funniness of that episode ("Who likes virgins and gold? P. Diddy?") ... gosh, I could go on and on. I'm just so happy that this episode turned out to be as good as everyone expected it! It really felt like watching a season 2 or 3 episode, which was especially awesome for me since I only started watching SPN live last fall and kinda missed the old school vibe in every one of the new episodes. And now the boys are back and for the first time in a loooooooong time they're not really hiding anything from each other anymore (at least at the end of the episode!) and they're on the same page, with Sam not even being mad at Dean for not being honest with him! I was scared that this would be the next big problem they had to deal with, Sam not being able to forgive Dean for lying to him, leading to more angst and fights and mistrust ... but now it's all good! What more could we ask for????

Sooooo looking forward to next week, and I can't believe we get to have more of this awesomeness on a weekly basis now again! Hurry up, next Friday!

Not cool, CW, not cool!

I just learned this morning that the CW decided to push back SPN another week??? I can't believe this.
Seriously, this week really sucked for me (my grandma died and I didn't get to see her one last time), and practically the only thing I was looking forward to was a lazy Saturday morning with a new SPN episode. Especially after reading all these rave reviews about "Like a virgin"! And now they are like "ooops, change of plans, you're not going to get that, just wait another week!" Unbelievable. I thought German TV was bad, airing SPN in irregular intervals and not giving a damn about the order of the episodes, but this takes the cake. Changing the airing schedule ONE DAY BEFORE the new ep was supposed to be on? Damn you, CW!
It's like snatching the prize away at the last minute, not caring that we all waited for two months (!) to learn how Sam gets back his soul! And then, I don't really get the reason for their decision. I mean, if it only was to give the VD fans a chance to watch both American Idol and their favorite show, how are they gonna handle this problem in the weeks to come? Never heard of DVRs???
Well, I guess it's back to watching reruns then. And hope that Mrs Ostroff doesn't change her mind again! I will be mightily pissed if I don't get my Supernatural back next Friday. You hear me, Dawn???
Excuse me now, I have to change my icon!

Yes, it is completely normal to wish your favorite fictional character a happy birthday, why do you ask???

This reminds me of when I was younger and wrote heart-adorned letters to my celebrity crush for his birthday and listened to all his songs all day long, ignoring all the "you're crazy" comments my family used to make ... whatever, it is officially Dean's birthday today, so many happy returns, bb! I'm just wondering: did they ever address the boy's birthdays on the show? I can't think of an episode in which they did ... like showing if they get each other presents or go out to have a drink? This needs to happen, seriously. I want Sam to sing Dean "Happy Birthday" and bake him a cake! :)
Anyway, have a good one, Dean sweetie, and don't let the Sammy-soul-business drag you down, alright? ;)

Happy new year y'all!
Hope you all had a great New Year's Eve with lots of fun and party ;)

2010 was a good year for me - everyone I love was happy and healthy, I finally moved in with my boyfriend and managed to keep the job I started last year. What more can you ask for? Oh, and of course I discovered Supernatural in May - can't believe it's only been seven months since I first saw Dean's pretty face! This is my first fandom, and I really enjoyed being part of it and always having people to talk about the show. It's just very comforting that there are so many people out there who are as obsessive about Supernatural as I am ;) Thanks to all you crazy gals making this fandom experience worthwhile! Can't wait to see what the new year will bring, Sam and Dean wise...

Have a great 2011 and enjoy the first day of the year!

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans

R.I.P. John Lennon

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Claiming Misha's Rhino portion :=)

Hey guys,
is anyone trying to redeem the piece of rhino Misha promised us for winning the TV Guide Poll? I'm not sure yet if I really should ... I'm a little scared about what he might actually send ... and it seems to be rather complicated to send a letter including a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Canada and then from Canada back to Germany! Has anybody living in Europe or outside Canada tried it yet? How does it work??  I tried using the Canada Post website to print out stamps, but since I don't know how big whatever Misha sends us is and can't really write "Piece of rhino" in description of the item, I'm not sure you can do it that way! And it apparently costs 56 Canadian Dollars ...

So what do you think, flist?

I seriously shouldn't be this happy about winning a silly cover poll of some magazine I had never heard of before, especially considering that I have work, a sick boyfriend and the lack of ideas for christmas presents to worry about, but I'm virtually sitting here GLEAMING about Supernatural's first TV Guide Cover! All these times I almost got caught at work typing in captchas, all these strange looks my bf gave me, saying "Get off the computer, you nerd" - seriously worth it! :)
This was the first ever fandom activity I took part in, and I won't forget all the epicness that went down the last night before the polls closed ;) Whatever people may say about Supernatural fandom and the levels of craziness it achieves - I'm proud I helped our boys win!
